 Application Guidelines


Eligibility

Indie game developers — solo or teams — from all backgrounds are welcome to apply, regardless of prior experience.


-Games may be submitted regardless of release status.

-Submissions must be made under the actual developer’s name. (* Submissions by publishers will not be accepted.)

-Multiple submissions are allowed. (* Only selected games will be exhibited at the festival.)


Participation in the online exhibition is required if selected. (Details TBA)


Your submission must include the following

📌 A Google Drive link to a playable build of your game


📌 A gameplay video (YouTube link only)


Important Notice

Application

- The submitted playable build must be compressed into a file under 2GB.

- Only Google Drive links will be accepted. Please ensure that access permissions are properly set — inaccessible links may result in disqualification.

- Review will be conducted on both PC and mobile devices.

- Only games that run independently — without requiring additional software or hardware — will be accepted.

- Submitted builds will be used solely for review purposes. If selected, an updated version may be submitted for exhibition.

- A build file is required even if the game has already been released in stores.

- If the game is cross-platform, please select one platform for the purpose of this exhibition.


Review

- Final selection will be based on evaluation by the judges.

- Judging criteria and panel details will not be disclosed. All decisions are final.

- All submitted content must comply with the classification guidelines of the Game Content Rating Board.

- Legal issues (e.g., copyright infringement) may result in disqualification, even after selection.


Exhibition

- Based on the review outcome, selected games may be exhibited on-site, online, or both.

- Creators of games selected for on-site exhibition must attend the festival in person.

- Online exhibitions must be uploaded to the designated platform. Further instructions will be provided.

FAQ


Am I not allowed to submit a game unless it has been assessed for rating?
You are not required to complete a rating assessment in order to apply to the Beaver Rocks 2025 Indie Game & Culture Festival. However, all exhibited games must comply with the classification standards of the Game Content Rating Board. Applicants are responsible for checking with the relevant authorities regarding the rating of their games.
I submitted multiple forms for the same game. Which one will be reviewed?
If multiple applications are submitted for the same game, the most recent version will be reviewed.
Can I make changes to the application form once it has been submitted?
Yes, you can update your application until the submission deadline. All changes must be made by the applicant before resubmitting. If you're unable to update the original form, you may submit a new one and notify us via email.
What should the video showcasing the game contain?
We recommend including both a trailer and gameplay footage, but there are no strict guidelines. You may upload the video to your personal YouTube channel and provide the URL in the form.
Can a game be submitted if it is still unfinished?
Yes. Games that are still in development or unreleased are eligible for submission.
Is there a minimum play time for the review or demo build?
No. The only requirement is that the file size must not exceed 2GB.
Is there a file size limit for the game build?
Yes. The compressed file must be 2GB or less.
How can I submit a mobile game?
For mobile games, you must provide an Android APK file. (PC build: optional.) iOS builds are not accepted.
Do I have to submit a build for a game that has already been released?
Yes. You must provide a Google Drive link to the build, even if the game has already been released. (Links to app stores or other sources will not be accepted.)
Can games for platforms other than PC or mobile be submitted?
You may submit games for any platform, but only PC and mobile games are eligible for selection. Games requiring hardware other than a PC or mobile device will not be considered for review.
Can I make changes to the build during the application period?
Yes. You may update the build file on Google Drive during the application period. However, any changes made after the submission deadline will result in disqualification.
How will I receive the results?
Applicants will be notified individually via email. (Announcement date: October 23)
Do teams selected for on-site exhibition also need to participate in the online exhibition?
Yes. Further details will be provided after the selection results are announced.

When can I apply?
Applications are open from August 4 (Mon) to September 15 (Mon), until 6:00 p.m. (KST). You can apply through the Beaver Rocks homepage. We recommend applying early to avoid last-minute issues.
